Do you remember seeing artists step back from their work, put their thumb in front of them with one eye open, just so they can inspect it from a distance?

Why do they do that? Why their thumb and one eye closed? Maybe they want to isolate a part of the art with their thumb to more closely analyse the other. Or perhaps it has something to do with the divine proportions of the Fibonacci Sequence that can be found in the joints of your thumb. Idk...

Now a day’s artists at their desks no longer stand back to look at their work as much as they (Ctrl + -)
